Rocklin, CA (November 3, 2003)
– Schoolhouse Software, a leader in the development of
software that manages school cafeteria operations, today
announced it has signed six new school districts in its
eastern region. The six districts – 3 in Pennsylvania, 2
in Tennessee and 1 in Virginia – all chose Schoolhouse
Software as their primary school food service technology
vendor. The districts are: Seneca Valley
School District, Line Mountain School District, and
Wattsburg Area School District in Pennsylvania; Union
County and Johnson City Schools in Tennessee; and Fauquier
County Public Schools in Virginia. Schoolhouse
Software is working closely with food service directors at
these districts and their respective staffs to deploy
Touch-n-Serv™ Point of Sale (POS) and/or eOfficeSuite™
back office administrative software.
“We were seeking to build a long term relationship
with an established vendor, and we were very impressed
with Schoolhouse’s products and reputation for
personalized support. The concept of having a
technical support representative assigned to us was very
appealing,” says Janet Mullaney, food services director
at Wattsburg Area School District. “My assigned TSR is
like a technical extension of my team; she is always there
when we need her.” Karen McGahey, director at
Johnson City Public Schools, takes a pragmatic view,
“The true character test of any tech support
organization, especially one based on the west coast, is
how they respond under adversity happening thousands of
miles away in a different time zone. Schoolhouse Software
is there for us when the chips are down. They have an
excellent support culture that really works to our
benefit.”
The company’s Touch-n-Serv
POS software is built to speed students through multiple
serving lines, accounting for sales that are free, reduced
or paid while maintaining confidentiality among students.
POS
systems at individual schools are networked to a central
server in the district office, where up to date
eligibility and student information needed to process meal
transactions is stored. Food service directors can choose
from a variety POS terminal options to fit their
operational needs, including rugged POS terminals, touch
screen monitors and wireless POS solutions.
Schoolhouse’s eOfficeSuite software runs in the
“back office” to capture daily food sales and provide
managers with complete financial reporting on food service
operations. The eOfficeSuite software encompasses a total
of 12 integrated modules, including general ledger, A/P,
inventory, and scanned meal applications.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome these new
clients in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia to the
Schoolhouse family,” says Ken Gregory, President of
Schoolhouse Software. “The market is clearly responding
to the combination of industry leading software backed by
a strong support organization, and we’re excited about
the positive momentum building for Schoolhouse.”
